Former NSW coach Brad Fittler has labelled Terrell May “pathetic” after the Tigers enforcer made comments regarding his potential Blues snub while live streaming.
The 26-year-old has been excellent for the Tigers since joining in 2025, but foxsports.com.au revealed he is unlikely to be included in Laurie Daley’s squad for the series opener.
In response, May said to a friend while streaming: “You know that Blues jersey I bought you? Chuck it in the bin”.

May was then asked if the report was “just the media” and he said: “Nah it’s not the media. How do you think it got leaked, you think they’re not just playing Chinese whispers.”
He also added he “might have to switch my allegiance” which caught the ire of Fittler, who launched a scathing assessment of May’s comments on Sunday.
“Haumole Olakau’atu did a couple of years ago something very similar, and then last year I went into Manly and he came up and apologised and sat there and just spoke about how he was immature,” Fittler said on Nine’s Sunday Footy Show.
“I really respected things he was speaking about and how light he was about it.
“I reckon maybe Terrell May should maybe ring Haumole and humble up a little bit.

“Seriously, what are these blokes thinking? There’s people at home who just love this game. They just love it.
“And you sit there playing a game and all of a sudden you want to just talk like this. How blasé. Pathetic.”
Fittler was referencing a social media post from Olakau’atu, sharing a Fox League graphic of a Maroons win on Instagram in 2022 which was captioned: “Been a Maroons since day dot”.
The Manly back rower later backflipped on his stance and admitted his post was “childish”.
