‘The Stuart clan goes bonkers’: Special moment as Ricky’s son Jed secures dream NRL debut

Raiders winger Jed Stuart has scored a try on his NRL debut, crossing in the 17th minute at Campbelltown Stadium against the Tigers on Friday night.

Centre Sebastian Kris found Stuart with a sensational flick pass before the son of coach Ricky Stuart got the ball down over the line.

Stuart just managed to avoid being tackled into touch and grounded the ball in the corner.

The commentators were delighted for the 23-year-old.

Dan Ginnane shouted: “Stuart! Stuart is over in the corner!”

“Jed Stuart scores on debut. The Stuart clan goes bonkers. Oh boy, they waited four years for him to get a crack at first grade.

“They only had to wait 18 minutes to see him score. A moment he will never, ever forget.”

Michael Ennis also sung Stuart’s praises.

“What a moment that is,” Ennis said.
