“Wests Tigers and Lachlan Galvin have mutually agreed to an immediate conclusion of his playing contract,” the club said in a statement.
Tigers CEO Shane Richardson wished Galvin the best in a short statement.
“We wish Lachlan all the best with another NRL club,” Richardson said.
Lachlan Galvin was also brief in thanking the board and wishing the club the best.
“I am grateful to the Wests Tigers Board and Management for granting my early release,” Galvin said.
“I wish the playing group success in the future.”
The release comes as the NRL reached out to the Bulldogs after Galvin was captured at training in his new colours at Belmore before his official release, which reportedly blindsided the Tigers.
The 19-year-old had been locked in a contract saga with the Tigers since rejecting a $6 million deal with the club from 2027.
Galvin had also been engaged in legal action with the Tigers over bullying claims.
His release was reportedly set to be granted by the Tigers only when his legal proceedings with the club were withdrawn. It remains to be seen if this has been the case.
Galvin is reportedly set to sign a three and a half year deal with the Bulldogs worth $750,000 a season and will likely play halfback against the Eels in Round 14.

The playmaker scored five tries in 31 games for the Tigers since his debut in 2024, after Benji Marshall fast-tracked his rise to the NRL.
However, repeated losses in 2024, saw Galvin grow disenchanted with the direction of the club under the leadership of Marshall.
Galvin reportedly wanted to play for a club and a coach that would better help him develop into an elite NRL player.

The Eels were the club leading the race for his signature, but Galvin had a change of heart and joined the Bulldogs in principle after his management Isaac Moses held discussion with Phil Gould.
Gould denied the Bulldogs would make a play for Galvin until the Tigers recently agreed to release the five-eighth ahead of schedule.
All that remains id for the Bulldogs to officially announce Galvin’s signing and both clubs can move on.
