Manly fullback Lehi Hopoate has suffered a horror double blow early in the Sea Eagles’ clash against the Knights at McDonald Jones Stadium.
Just five minutes into the game, Hopoate chased through on a kick from centre Tolutau Koula, and Hopoate appeared to ground the ball for Manly’s first try.
But replays showed Hopoate had in fact knocked the ball on, failing to ground it properly, with the try being disallowed by the bunker.

Making matters worse for Hopoate was that he landed awkwardly as he attempted to ground the ball.
He got up gingerly, and went for a Head Injury Assessment. Hopoate was then ruled out for the game with a category one.
It didn’t hurt the Sea Eagles too much though. They scored three tries in the first half to lead 16-0 at halftime.
